Presidential Scholar candidates announced

Last January, more than 2,000 students of nearly 3.4 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in 2015 were selected as the 2015 Presidential Scholar candidates. Of these 2,000 students, three were from the Elmbrook School District, with two from Brookfield Central: Veronica Daniel (’15) and Advait Reddy (’15). Candidates were selected based on their ACT/SAT scores or a nomination by a Chief State School Officer. In its fifty-first year, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, by executive order of the President, aims to recognize and honor some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Semifinalists will be announced in April and up to 141 students will be named as Presidential Scholars.
