Marvel has created one of the largest franchises in movie history with its super hero universe. After The Avengers was released in 2012, more Marvel movies were planned to continue the story. One of these movies was a sequel to the first Captain America movie.

The story begins with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), also known as Captain America, adapting to modern times. He works for S.H.I.E.L.D., a government organization, with his partner Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), or Black Widow, and is often off on missions. Another hero named Falcon is also introduced. Then, a mystery assassin appears, targeting Captain America. His identity is a shocker. In the movie, he and his partner soon learn that there are dangerous secrets in S.H.I.E.L.D.

Storylines from the first Captain America movie are also woven into its sequel. They add more information that might not have been included in the earlier film. Old faces and old enemies appear and create major plot twists.

I was intrigued the entire time I was watching this suspenseful film. I believe this is one of the best superhero films I have seen in a long time partly because of the altruism of Steve Rogers. In addition, it not only seemed like a superhero film, but it also incorporated politics into it too.  The conflicts within the government are relevant to today’s government and seemed all too real. I give this film five out of five stars and recommend it for anyone who likes action, super heroes, and plot twists.
