Is Summer School Worth it?
The words “Summer School” may seem haunting and dreadful to some but there are real benefits that come with extending your studies into the summer months. Of course, it can get students who have failed classes back on track, but it also offers an opportunity to get some extra credit, get required courses out of the way, and further your learning on topics you may be interested in.
Summer school is really the best option when it comes to taking that D or F off of a transcript and can help to gain a deeper understanding of the material that was previously missed. Term-long, required courses such as Health and Personal Finance can also be taken during summer which can free up school year schedules for more fun classes. These along with other classes are offered online, require no in-person attendance, and only have about an hour of work each day. Gym classes can also be taken during the summer which is a good way to hang out with friends and get it out of the way. When you really think about it, summer school is not going to ruin your summer plans. At most, it will take up an hour or two of your day and classes can be taken from your bedroom. It’s a great way to improve upon learning, keep your mind active during summer, and prepare for the upcoming school years.
