Regarding fast food and chicken, there are three competitors in Brookfield. You can find these three on Capitol Dr. all within a quarter mile of each other. Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Chick-fil-A, and Dave’s Hot Chicken all compete for customers while each has a unique spin on their chicken and service, distinguishing the three from one another.
Of the three, Cane’s is the newest in Brookfield, leading to an influx of customers these past few months. They only have one location in Brookfield which causes Brookfield residents to flood the parking lot and form a line down the street daily. Likewise, Dave’s Hot Chicken has only one location in Brookfield, although it might not be as popular as Cane’s, it still attracts a wide variety of customers. Unlike the other two, Chick-fil-A has many locations throughout Brookfield, meaning the location on Capitol does not see the number of customers that Cane’s and Dave’s Hot Chicken do.
When looking at the food choices at each restaurant, each focuses on a different menu and flavor profile. Cane’s is known for their chicken tenders, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, and (what they are most known for) Cane’s sauce. Although the Cane’s menu doesn’t offer much, it is consistently delicious and attracts customers due to its simplicity. Chick-fil-A has the most diverse menu with chicken sandwiches, tenders, nuggets, waffle fries, Chick-fil-A sauce, and more, including salads and breakfast items. This allows for anyone to enjoy something at Chick-fil-A. Finally, Dave’s Hot Chicken is set apart from the other stores because they specialize in serving spicy chicken tenders. Although they are known for the spice, there is a scale of 7 different spice levels for the consumer to choose from, going from no spice, all the way to Reaper. This means that any customer can choose the perfect spice level for themselves. They have the choice of tenders or sliders along with fries. All three stores have a different approach to their menus to appeal to their customers.
Each brand appeals to different groups of consumers based on their brand identity. Chick-fil-A aims for a clean and inviting Southern-style restaurant with Christian values, being closed every Sunday. This is a very family-friendly approach inviting guests of any age. Cane’s is very laid back and appealing to most ages, especially younger generations. Dave’s is very hip and inviting to younger, more adventurous people to try their spicy chicken. Each store is very unique and appealing to different demographics.
There is no right or wrong answer as to which is the best, everyone has different opinions. So it is important to go out and try the different restaurants and figure out which is your favorite. So hopefully looking at each restaurant under a different lens allowed you to expand your options and opinions.
