This year on Saturday, October 26, 2024 the annual Trunk or Treat took place in the Brookfield Central parking lot. Trunk or Treat is put on every year by the Brookfield Central Student Council. It is an opportunity to promote extracurriculars from all areas of the student body. Each club parks a car covered in various decorations, holding bags of candy and the members of the extracurricular. Students from across the district elementary schools come with their families to walk the parking lot weaving through the different cars.
This year, 31 cars were set up in the parking lot representing 24 clubs at BC. Some of the most notable clubs were girls’ volleyball with their CandyLand-themed trunk decked out with a balloon arch, Hope Squad with their farm-themed car, Key Club with their very own Mystery Machine, and of course, our very own Tyro table going the classic Halloween route.
All the cars watched as child after child approached the tables in costumes from Batman to Bluey. Soon many tables found themselves running out of candy. Soon people were sent out to the nearby Walgreens or other grocery stores to pick up additional cand; student council members attempted to get by with their spare candy so as to not disappoint the kids running around.
All in all, the 2024 Trunk or Treat was a success! We had families and friends from all over Brookfield and Elm Grove come together to have a spooky celebration while also learning about all the incredible things Elmbrook extracurricular activities have to offer. Tyro hopes to see you all next year at the next Trunk or Treat!
