Brookfield residents’ favorite sweet treat stop, Oscar’s Frozen Custard, sadly caught fire early morning of November 19th. This is a devastating tragedy to those who love Oscar’s custard or food.
The beloved Brookfield location was opened in 1992 by Susie Taylor and her husband. In just over 30 years, many memories were made and this temporary closure begs the question: what is Oscar’s plan moving forward?
Oscar’s is set on returning their Brookfield location. Though, Brookfield is not their only location — they have locations in West Allis and Franklin that are still open for business and taking customers. On the Oscar’s website, they wrote, “We are a bit shaken by the fire at our Brookfield location, but rest assured we will be back!” This is delightful news and the shop will be back better than ever. However, they have not started repairs yet and there is no set date.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the fire started near the roof area causing the roof to collapse into the building. Along with the damage from the fire, the building faced damages from water and smoke. No one was in the building at the time of the fire, so no injuries occurred.
We are all looking forward to what’s next for the Oscar’s of Brookfield. Stay tuned for updates on the Oscar’s website!
