As spring rolls around, BC students are eager to enjoy a reprieve from school. Whether it’s relaxing on a beach, exploring a city, or spending time with family and friends, there is much to look forward to. After countless homework assignments, extracurricular activities, and exams, Spring Break is the perfect opportunity to recharge.
After a long Wisconsin winter, many students are headed to tropical destinations. Junior Saanvi Kiran is traveling to Punta Mita, Mexico. She is most excited to “enjoy the tropical weather, especially going to a more relaxing hidden beach.” While she does not plan to do schoolwork over the break., she has allotted some time to prepare for the ACT. Lucy Petitt, a sophomore, is also excited to enjoy the beach as she is headed to Kauai, Hawaii. She is most excited to go on a helicopter tour of the island. Regarding school work, she explains, “I plan on preparing for my AP exams on the plane, but otherwise I won’t be doing much studying. I am looking forward to having time off!”
Some Lancers are looking forward to exploring a foreign city. Aaryaa Mardikar, a sophomore, is going to Paris and is most excited to go to Disneyland in Paris. She says, “I definitely plan on studying for finals because they are the week we come back to school, but I am very excited to get time off of school.” Jordin Sun, a sophomore, is also travelling to Europe. She is going to various cities in Greece, including Athens and Santorini. She is most excited to have authentic Greek food and enjoy the views. She says, “I do not plan on studying over break. I have so much I want to do in Greece, and I want to just enjoy time with my family without worrying about school.”
Finally, many students have plans around the area. Freshman Joseph Strader is going on a road trip with his family and plans on touring various colleges in the area. His older sister, Elizabeth Strader, says, “I might study a bit over break but I will focus more on spending quality time with my family.”
While some students do plan on studying a bit over break, everyone agrees that Spring Break is a time to focus on family and friends. Some might return from far travels, others will have stayed local. However, we all must return and push through until summer.
