As we approach the last day of school, Lancers have a multitude of events to mark on their calendar. From school dances to spring athletics, the fourth term is most certainly one of the busiest times of the year. Seniors in particular have not only graduation to look forward to but also numerous other activities. Here is a preview of all the upcoming events that seniors have:
- Brookfield Central Senior Honors Night (5/28)
This annual event will be held in Brookfield Central’s main gym on Wednesday, May 28. This invite-only night is served to honor seniors who have received a 4.0+ GPA as well as those who are receiving a “school-related’ scholarship. Appetizers will start to be served at 6:00 PM, and the event will begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Seniors who were invited to this event should try their best to go, as their hard work and dedication deserve recognition!
- All-School Picnic (5/28)
Another popular tradition at BC is the all-school picnic. This event provides Brookfield Central students with the opportunity to purchase lunch from a variety of vendors and enjoy the experience of eating outside on the football field alongside their classmates. This year, there will be 8 food trucks: The nice weather, variety of delicious food options, and ample time to hang out with friends make this event a very enjoyable experience!
- Senior Field Trip (5/30)
On May 30, the senior class will take their annual field trip to Frame Park in Waukesha. This excursion includes lunch, river activities, and a great opportunity to have fun as a whole grade for the last time. Tickets will be sold via GoFan for $20.
- Senior Send Off Assembly (5/30)
This all-school assembly serves as both a pep rally for Spring Fling and a bittersweet tradition dedicated to seniors. Following games, shows/performances, and entertainment, the Senior Send-Off Assembly culminates with the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors “shifting” one grade forward on the bleachers and the seniors moving to the gym floor. The Senior Video is still played, which shows photos and videos of members of the senior class throughout their four years of high school. This assembly is an amazing way for seniors to reminisce on their experience at Brookfield Central High School and be properly “sent off” by their peers, teachers, and fellow Lancers.
- Spring Fling (5/30)
Though this event is open to all grades, Spring Fling is especially important for seniors because it is the last chance ever for them to go to a high school dance. This year’s theme is Teen Beach, based on the popular Teen Beach Movie. Don’t forget to wear your best beach-themed attire – think tropical prints, flip-flops, and beachy accessories. Whether you’re rocking your best board shorts or showing off your summer dresses, come ready to have a blast.
This is the night to celebrate friendship, fun, and the exciting summer ahead! So, grab your friends, get into the beach spirit, and let’s make this year’s Spring Fling a wave of unforgettable memories
- Cap and Gown Walk at Elementary Schools (6/2)
For many seniors, their K-12 journey started at an elementary school in Brookfield. On Monday, June 2nd, the BC Class of 2025 will visit their elementary school to walk the halls one last time in their cap and gown. Seniors who came from different school districts are also welcome. Students had to fill out a Google Form to choose from the school they would like to attend, whether it’s their old elementary school or a school where their friends are going.
- Elmbrook Education Foundation Honors Night (6/2)
EEF Honors Night serves to honor high school seniors who have earned scholarships from the Elmbrook Education Foundation. Seniors were invited to apply for this in February and were chosen based on their character, extracurriculars, and suitability for the vision of each scholarship. For anyone who earned a scholarship or would like to cheer on winning friends/family, the EEF Honors Night will be held on the evening of June 2nd in the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center.
- Senior Sunset (6/5)
Senior Sunset is a high school tradition that marks the end of senior year and the beginning of the next chapter. It is for seniors to come together, reflect on their high school journey, and look ahead to the future. Pizza and Soda will be provided! This will take place at the Harrison-Thomas Stadium from 7 – 8:45 pm.
- Seniors Bike to School (6/6)
One of our greatest traditions- Seniors bike to School! Seniors will gather at Mitchell Park at 7 am, and Brookfield Police PD will escort the Class of 2025 to BC, leaving Mitchell Park at 7:20 am. Instead of driving to school, seniors get to spend their last day of high school ever biking with their friends.
- Senior Lunch (6/6)
The Senior Class will have a special lunch in the cafe on June 6 from 10:45-11:30 am. Seniors were allowed to vote on entrees in early spring; so far, the winning choice is Mandarin orange chicken. After lunch, seniors will load the buses for graduation practice.
- Senior Send-Off Celebration (6/8)
Senior Send-Off is a cherished BCHS tradition—a safe, casual, and fun celebration for the Class of 2025. The event features something for everyone, including casino tables, sports, ping-pong, swimming, food, raffle prizes, and more! It will take place at Elite Sports Club from 9 pm-1 am. Tickets are available for $25 on the GoFan App, and depending on how early you purchase them, your name will be entered into the prize raffle 1-3 times.
