December 11, 2015
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” Put a little cheer in your life this holiday season with some festive peppermint bark! This fun no-bake treat is very easy to make and is the perfect party snack or small gift to give to all of your loved ones!
Ingredients:
- Dark Chocolate chips (One bag)
- White Chocolate chips (One bag)
- Candy Canes or peppermint sticks (6)
- Peppermint extract
Instructions:
- Line any cookie sheet or baking dish with wax paper and set aside.
- Melt your dark chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave- just make sure to use short intervals in the microwave so it does not burn.
- Evenly stir in a dash of peppermint extract, then pour the chocolate onto your tray in a thin and smooth layer. The thinner the chocolate, the more bark you will get!
- Chill the tray in the freezer while you prepare your other ingredients.
- Place your unwrapped candy canes (as many as you desire) in a sturdy bag and crush them with rolling pin until they are your desired size. Set aside.
- Prepare your white chocolate with the same process as your dark chocolate. Don’t forget the peppermint extract and be careful not to burn the chocolate!
- Take out the pan with the hardened dark chocolate and pour the melted white on top. Smooth in a similar process as before.
- Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top before the white chocolate hardens and put the whole pan in the freezer again for about an hour.
- Once the bark is hard, break it into pieces and enjoy!
