Some say the past never truly leaves… come with me and explore the world of the unknown, a world where ghosts and ghost hunters become real. Many know the story of the school ghost in rooms 2026 and room 2010. In this paper, you’ll find interviews from real paranormal investigator groups and stories about places you always drive past in the town of Brookfield. But let’s first dive into the classrooms. In the halls of Brookfield Central, whispers of the unknown or paranormal sightings grow, and questions linger, especially in the two classrooms.
Room 2026:
It was last year when something unexplainable happened in the room. I was working with a teacher and I was reading a haunted house book and all of… suddenly the heater turned off and on then it got cold; in the room, the air was icy and still, almost like the room was holding its breath. I felt a cold hand on your shoulder. Then the bell rang and we agreed never to use that heater. The teacher even got scared that she moved the heater to the other side of the room.
Mr. Mroz’s room:
If you were (or are) lucky enough to have a class with Mr. Mroz, you will know this story well. Sometimes in his classroom the slide shows get messed up – keeps going forward or backwards – and he has to fix the smartboard, or the room gets super cold for no reason, or the lights flicker mysteriously. When this happens, Mr. Mroz talks about how the school was built on a Native American burial ground. However, this theory of the school being built on native land has been passed down through generations. Some say the ghost in the room is probably a Native American spirit that doesn’t like the school being there, or maybe they are unsure where they are, or they still think they’re alive and does not realize that there is a school, but nevertheless, it is supposedly haunted. Many students have experienced the same eerie chill during class time.
A lot like the school, there are other places that are even more haunted, and those places need to be dealt with by people who have a lot experience in the field, and that’s why I interviewed a paranormal group that actually go to real places and discover if its a paranormal activity or if the experiences can be scientifically explained. They go by the name of PIM which stands for (Paranormal Investigators of Milwaukee).
They described their main equipment as cameras, temperature detectors, and recordings to pick up the noises of the investigation. The PIM stated, “With understanding. My philosophy when it comes to paranormal investigation is being skeptically optimistic. As a scientist, I know that most of what is claimed to be paranormal has a normal explanation. Also as a scientist, I know that not every claim can be readily explained. Just because it can’t be explained now doesn’t mean it can’t be explained ever. That is why I go out and do this. To help people and to learn more about the world we live in. In reality, there are very few instances of paranormal activity that cannot be readily explained.” Finally, one piece of advice for people wanting to investigate the paranormal world is: “It isn’t a job, it is a hobby! You won’t get rich doing this. Read about the history of paranormal investigation (we have a recommended reading section on our website) and know any equipment you use inside and out. Most ‘evidence’ you find online (if it isn’t outright faked) is the investigators contaminating their own investigation. Understand that if you investigate someone’s home or business, what you say matters. Make sure you can back-up any conclusions you are making with hard evidence. Always get permission to investigate a location!”
As I was working on this article, I had the chance to experience an actual investigation with the team. It was a historical museum, and while we were there, we had to keep quiet, and they turned off all the lights and the first part, we had to listen to the natural sounds of the building. Then we moved onto asking the ghost questions, like if they can move something. or if they could whisper in our ears, or grab our arms to let us know that there actually is a ghost or something and there were three parts of the building the main floor the attic and finally the basement the basement was the least haunted based on the claims of only seeing shadows, but there was this boiler system that, when it turned off, it shook the enter door and wall, and it made it sound like something was trapped in there.
