The Brewers had an amazing season this year with a whopping 97 wins throughout the regular season. This was the most wins out of any of the teams in the MLB. The Brewers ended up taking the division title for the National League Central as well as breaking the franchise record at 14 wins in a row during the regular season. Although the regular season had fans hoping for their first World Series title, a formidable winning season doesn’t always mean a championship in the post-season.
Unfortunately, this past month the Brewers were swept by the Dodgers in a 7 game series, not winning a single time. A truly outstanding performance by Shohei Ohtani sealed the deal as during the final game he not only pitched six innings with ten strikeouts but hit 3 home runs in the same game which is an incredible feat that had never been done before. This was still really disappointing for all the Brewers fans out there and this one had a little sting on it. Although the Milwaukee Brewers will not be continuing their playoff run this year, they did have an incredible playoff series against their rivals, the Cubs, and finished them off at American Family Field.
I myself went to a game this season and saw how this team has really grown together and represented the “Eucker Magic” this year as a whole. This was a special season for the Brewers because their long time announcer and supporter Bob Eucker died this past January. This season was meant to be played in his memory and it would have been amazing to win the World Series. This season I went to this game and it was a really amazing experience because this year my family received an exchange student from Spain and this was her first game! It was super exciting for everyone even though the Brewers lost that day.
The Brewers are a huge part of the Milwaukee Culture and tailgating before a game is a great way to make friends and create lasting relationships. The Brewers will be working during the offseason and the citizens of Wisconsin will be excited for their return next year!
