This season the Packers have had immense success with their offense, with Tucker Kraft being a leader on the team with his talent and positive attitude. The Packers took control of the NFC North Division early in the season partially due to his influence paired with excellent defense led by Micah Parson. The Packers are still in command of the North; however, on November 2, Packers tight end Tucker Kraft had a devastating injury. During a blocking play, an opposing player’s leg struck out against Kraft’s leg and it buckled inward, tearing his ACL. This terrible injury unfortunately will prevent him from the rest of the entire season, which is a big blow to the Packers offense.
Although the Packers have lost a key player, the rest of the team is stepping up to fill the role that Tucker Kraft played. Matt Lefleur stated that, “It’s got to be a collective effort” because no one can truly replace Kraft. Some tight ends that the Packers are looking at are Luke Musgrave or perhaps John FitzPatrick. The offense needs to work together to keep up this amazing season to go all the way to the Superbowl despite this major setback.
I interviewed Mr. Andrew Tuler on the loss of Tucker Kraft and here is what he has to say. I asked him what his initial thoughts were when he was watching the game against the Panthers: “Initially I was bummed because Tucker had been having such a great season and had transformed into one of the league’s best tight ends. However, I like how the Packers are undeterred and willing to step it up while he’s gone. We have some depth in our wide receivers and I hope that will carry us through the season.”
