The 2024–25 school year was packed with unforgettable moments for Brookfield Central athletics. They battled through tough competition, broke records, and earned spots at major tournaments and state championships.
Girls Tennis
The girls tennis team had a notable season. They won the Lady Lancer Invite for the first time in nine years and secured key dual wins that boosted their conference standing. The Lancer ladies were also seeded 12th in state, their highest since 2016. One of the most notable moments came during the Lady Lancer Invite finals against Westosha Central. The team started down 0-3, shortly after the lancers came back by winning 4 matches in a row, which helped them claim the title of Lady Lancer Champions!
Football:
This year’s football team had highs and lows, one of the highs being a win 32-0 against Nathan Hale. Throughout their season, the Lancers demonstrated perseverance and teamwork. This was especially clear during the homecoming game, where they lost the game by one point. But the lancers kept their heads up and beat Germantown in the next game 27-24. The boys finished the season with a 3–7 record, but they never gave up, and fans can’t wait to see what they accomplish next year!
Boys Volleyball:
The boys volleyball team had one of their best seasons in school history, qualifying for state for the first time in 23 years! A major highlight of the boys season was beating the rivals Brookfield East in the sectional finals, this win sent them to state. Another highlight of their season was that they upset the #2 teams in the state after beating them 3-2 and to make this victory better, the team beat them at home. Special shout-out to Weston Hink, for making a new school record of 342, for having the most season kills! Overall, the boys had an incredible year, and we can’t wait to see what more they achieve in the future.
Girls Golf:
The girls golf team had a strong season within the conference taking 3rd place. The girls team also did a fantastic job and the Greater Metro Conference (GMC), taking 4th place. Shout out to Abbie Welch, who made it to state with an exceptional season. Abbie was great at starting and secured 24th place to her name! The team competed really well against teams like Wauwatosa West. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.
Girls Volleyball:
The girls volleyball team had an exceptional year, finishing with a 21-19 record after facing tough opponents all season long. The players worked hard, improved a lot, and showed good teamwork as the season went on. With help from their coaches and team leaders, they stayed positive and kept pushing through close games. Overall, it was a solid season that showed how much potential the team has for next year.
Boys Soccer:
This year the boys soccer team had an amazing season with the season record of 10-5-5. They played tough teams in their conference but still managed to stay competitive and work well together. The players showed good teamwork, stronger defense, and created more scoring chances as the season went on. Their hard work helped them make the playoffs, which showed how much they grew and how promising the team looks for next year.
Girl CC:
The girls cross country team had a really strong season, with runners who worked hard and supported each other at every meet. They had some great finishes and showed a lot of improvement as the year went on. With leaders like Alexandra Rossi and Lily Michalski, who supported the team to State. With strong leaders and good teamwork, they proved they were one of the more competitive teams and built a solid foundation for next season.
Boys CC:
The Brookfield Central boys’ cross country team had a successful 2025 season, highlighted by their key achievement: qualifying for the WIAA Division 1 State Championships. The team secured their State berth by finishing as the WIAA Sectional Runner-Up, narrowly defeating several competitors. Senior Ben Turner was a consistent leader, pacing the team and achieving a personal best at Sectionals to ensure their advance to the State meet.
Swim and Dive:
The Brookfield Central girls’ swim and dive team delivered a strong 2025 season, successfully qualifying both individuals and relay teams for the WIAA Division 1 State Meet. In the highly competitive Greater Metro Conference (GMC), the Lancers secured a respectable 4th place finish at the championship meet. This year we had 5 talented swimmers going to state. Though not at the top of the conference, their commitment and teamwork showed through.
Cheer:
The cheer team had a busy and exciting 2024‑25 season. They supported their school at football and basketball games, doing a bunch of tumbling, stunts, and cheers. At the same time, they brought back competitive routines, with a separate group of cheerleaders competing at events. Under Coach White, the team showed school spirit and dedication all year, balancing both sideline duties and competition.
Dance:
The Brookfield Central dance team, the Lancerettes, had a strong season focused on both school performance and competition. They regularly performed at varsity events and competed in Jazz and Pom routines. They had a very successful 2025 season, securing high placements in state competition. They finished 3rd in Division 1 Pom and 4th in Division 1 Jazz at the WACPC State Championships.
