This year, the Brookfield Central Girls Basketball Team are off to a great start. Last season, the team lost to Menomonee Falls, Germantown, as well as Hamilton. This year, the team beat all three schools. The games were very fast paced, with two of the girls’ four games ending in significant victories of 67-55 and 67-59 against Menomonee Falls and Germantown, respectively.
Senior Dylan Romero also decided to commit to Carthage University for basketball! This was a special day for the whole team as they all gathered to celebrate this achievement. The whole team gathered together for a photo to the right.
Brookfield Central student Aaryaa Mardikar attended one of the games at home. Here are some of her thoughts about the atmosphere as well as the game itself: She stated that she “had a great time! The energy was high, with the band on the side and a large crowd!” She also agreed that there was a lot of good teamwork and good communication. She was “amazed with the level of skill and coordination between each and every player.”
I myself am on the basketball team and I can agree that all of the girls are super hard working and are great at working together as a team so that each and every game we all play our hardest. At each away game we all get to bond as a great team during the bus rides as we sing to music and talk a lot about lots of things. The atmosphere at all of the games are rife with support and encouragement from all the players which really helps the mindset of all the players to improve a lot. Overall the girls are having a great start to the season and you as a reader should attend more games to support the program!
