This year, the wrestling team had an amazing season! They have had many meets and tournaments, performing very well at most of them. This past week, there was a tournament and wrestler Tyler Tuler won gold in his division! This is a great accomplishment that helped Brookfield Central gain a lot of team points.
This season has been a great season with historical achievements. For nine years, the Brookfield Central wrestling team has not been able to beat the Brookfield East wrestling team when they competed against each other. This year, it was different. The Brookfield Central wrestling team finally beat their rivals in a head to head contest. This was a great boost of morale for the wrestling team.
Although the season has been going pretty well so far, there have also been some injuries that prevented people from competing. Wrestler Grace Peters was unable to participate after spraining her collarbone and had to wait until she was all clear in order to continue wrestling again. This was a big hit for the Lancer since Grace was a former champion of one of the tournaments hosted at BC, and unfortunately her streak of wins in this particular competition was broken. However, it is alright, as she will soon recover and be better than ever!
I interviewed division winner, Tyler Tuler, on his victories and his first season as a varsity wrestler here at BC. When asked how the season has been going, he responded “Good. I feel like I’ve really improved a lot since the start of the season,” which shows his increasing amount of success. When asked about his performance in his last meet, he stated, “It was definitely a battle, but I don’t know, I worked hard and beat the other guy.” This statement really says it all on how to keep working hard to keep improving your skills at the game.
