Mr. Bob Fuchs, advisor of DJ Club, and Kirat Mokha (’18) play music at lunch.

BC DJ Club began when alumnus Jeremiah Kendl (’15) showed a major interest in beginning a club for students interested in music and DJ-ing. Mr. Fuchs, who owned a DJ company, agreed to kickstart the club and provide students with some equipment.

DJ Club members are the source of the lunchtime music every day of the week, a luxury that was previously only available on Fridays.

“We are planning on purchasing an iPad for lunch tunes,” said co-president Emma Borkowski (‘17). “For right now, every member uses their own personal device or Mr. Fuchs’ iPad.”

In addition, the club showcased their music at the Black and White dance in the Black Box theatre on February 13.

Borkowski said, “My favorite part of the club is the opportunity to play tunes at lunch and meeting other people who are passionate about music.”

Club meetings are held each Thursday after school in the BC cafeteria where members plan out who is going to DJ at each lunch for the following week. Meetings are open to new and returning members, and Borkowski encourages anyone interested in music to stop by.
