October 16, both the Legend yearbook and TYRO newspaper received exceptionally high marks at the Kettle Moraine Press Association (KEMPA) Conference.

Over one hundred of the most prestigious yearbooks, newspapers, and literary magazines from Wisconsin and Illinois were submitted by previous editors to be assessed at the KEMPA conference. This year, the Legend not only won its seventh consecutive All-KEMPA award, the highest rating, but was also identified as the best yearbook in the state. Judges evaluated the yearbook in a variety of areas including theme, editorials, and photography. Additionally, the Legend adviser, Mr. Juran, was honored by being inducted into the KEMPA Hall of Fame.

Similar to the Legend, the TYRO newspaper was also critiqued in an array of categories such as written features, editing, and graphic designs. Mrs. Evans said, “As TYRO adviser, I am thrilled that the newspaper was able to earn the first prize award for two years in a row.” These outstanding achievements reflect the hard work and talent of all students contributing to BC’s award-winning sudent media outlets.
