Proud of their accomplishments this year, members and coaches of the BC Ski Team pose for a picture with their skis, which did not let them down this season.

Skiing fast hasn’t been a problem for the Brookfield Central Ski Team this season. The team started their season in December of last year and has stayed strong throughout their various races. Their hard work and dedication to the sport has clearly shown with their constantly improving ski skills. Brookfield Central’s Ski Team has competed in at least five different races throughout their season. Each race has played a crucial role in the team’s development and spirit. The racers’ commitment to spend all of their Thursday and Sunday nights skiing has created a special bond amongst them. This year, Girl’s Varsity introduced four freshman team members: Olivia Costa, Elianne del Campo, Amanda Meyer, and Laura Lena Bogyay. Boy’s Varsity was also proud to introduce freshman Jack McCardle as part of their team.
Olivia Costa (‘20), Garret Miner (‘19), and Joey Cain (‘18) had a remarkable season, which led them to participate in the Wisconsin High School State Championships in Mt. Lacrosse February 19 and 20. “Being a freshman on the Ski Team, and racing for the first time – I was surprised by the fact that I was actually kinda good at racing. I was also surprised by how much I improved over time, and I have to thank my coaches for that. I would go as far as to say that the BC Ski Team has a great group of kids and I have enjoyed getting to know them all!” said Olivia Costa about her first Ski Racing season. Nevertheless, State wasn’t the only accomplishment for some members of the Ski Team. Both the Girls JV Team and the Boys JV Team were able to qualify for the JV Conference meet at Holy Hill Feb. 23. Good luck and congratulations!
